Role of the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Innovation and Chief Academic Technology Officer

Ms. Garrett provides strategic planning for and oversees the support of nearly 190 learning spaces across three campuses and directs the design of nationally award-winning innovative learning spaces at GW. She leads the Instructional Technology Lab and is responsible for support of the Blackboard learning management system and lecture capture systems. Additionally, she leads online education initiatives and provides executive oversight of the eDesign Shop, the university’s online course production department.

Role of the Deputy Chief Academic Technology Officer

As Deputy Chief Academic Technology Officer, Mr. Johnson directs the academic technology operations teams at both the Foggy Bottom and Virginia Science and Technology campuses. He also oversees AT’s Project Management Office, Audiovisual Design and Engineering team, and Networks, Servers, and Security team.

Role of the Executive Director, Academic Enterprise Applications

Mr. Baharu is responsible for overseeing the Instructional Technology Lab specifically designed for faculty. Additionally, he manages the support, development, and implementation of instructional technologies at GW, including the Blackboard Course Management System.
